Pine Wood Derby...It's ALL THE CRAZZZZEEEEE!!

Two weeks ago Derick was handed a little box with a rectangle of Pine wood, 4 wheels and 4 nails included.  This was the beginning of the Pine Wood Derby CRAZE in our home!  I am talking out in the garage for hours on end, sanding, sanding and more sanding.  Up until 11pm painting and watching paint dry!  Derick, Erick and our dear friend Jim spent countless hours on this car and in the end...IT ALL PAID OFF!!  Derick took 1ST PLACE!!  I am not sure who was more excited...Derick, Erick or Jim?  It was such a fun experience for everyone! Ericks family came out to watch the race and support Derick.  He was so excited to see Grandma and Papa and his big cousins there.   So here are a ton of pictures of the happenings! We are very proud of how the car turned out!!  ENJOY!!
One day I could not find Derick anywhere. I was looking all over the house and I had gone out the garage and hollered out to the street to find him.  I heard his voice, from above me and I looked up and he was ON TOP of the refrigerator sanding the car.  He kept it up there so that no one messed with his prize car.

Kash even got to help a very little with the car.  He was very excited to be part of this. He can't wait to be a Cub Scout so he can make a Pine Wood Derby too!!

Derick was DEAD SET on having his car gold and silver. This was after the gold paint.

Here he is setting up his car for the 1st race!  He took such care not to mess up the axles!
I know the picture is fuzzy, that's because these cars were CRUZIN!!!  Derick took 1st in every race until a crash.  He then took second 3 times however, he still won 1st overall.
The proud CRAFTSMEN!!!!

Papa and Grandma are so proud of their boys!!!!  They got Derick all his Scouting get up including his book and not to mention a super cool bumper sticker for my car!!  We are so proud of our CUB SCOUT!!!

This is 2 generations from the Farabee Racing Team!!
Erick's "White Knight" took 1st place back in it's day too!!

I am so thankful that Erick is such an amazing Father. I am so pleased that he is mine and my kids. (our kids) He is 100% all the time with them.  I am so fond of my husband and the man that he is to me and to our children.  This time was so special for Him and Derick.  It is a time I know they wont forget because I have heard Erick talk about building his with his Mom, Dad and Grandpa.  As well as My Dad talk about the special time with my brothers.  I love the memories that these things build.  I am also so thankful that we have people in our life like Jim that sincerely love our children. Jim is like a second Father to Derick. He put his heart and soul into this with Derick as if it were his own child's car.  Jim is a wonderful example to Derick and always does things to build his character and love for life and others. Derick is a lucky boy to have such wonderful Men to look up too and learn from.  So THANK YOU Erick, Roland, Dad, Chris, Jim!

My first baby boy is 8!

I honestly cannot believe that I have been a Mother for 8 years.  That a little over 8years ago Dr. Joel Falk placed the most precious 9pound 9oz baby boy in my arms.  That very single moment, I had waited and desired for my entire life. How do I express the love that I feel for him and the moment that my life forever changed when he was given to me.  My heart was taken over, my life before was completely forsaken and willingly at that.  He was perfect, beautiful and soft.  I knew that moments before this his sweet spirit was with Jesus. He had been sent to me with love and trust to tend to and nurture.  I have wondered if I have done what the Savior had hoped.  If he is well pleased with the Mother that I have become.  The Mother that I strive to be.  My sweet Derick is a kind, loving little boy.  He is silly and has no shame!  He loves to be the center of attention and loves all sports.  He is a worry wart to the core!!  He always has everyone else's needs in thought before he acts for himself.  Derick is honest even if it means he is going to get in trouble. He is SO excited to be a Boy Scout.  He is taking this new role very seriously,  we are proud of him for wanting to work so hard ALL THE TIME! Derick is my sweet love.  He holds my heart in his every smile.   I am so greatful that I am his Momma.  I am beyond thankful that he is mine for the Eternities!  I am so proud that Derick has chosen to be baptized, that he understands what this covenant means and that he is looking forward to that day.  Derick, I love you, I love you, I LOVE YOU!!!   HAPPY 8TH BIRTHDAY DERICK!

Claira Lost her 1st Tooth!!

A couple of weeks ago Claira Joe came in and said "Mom, I have a loosed tooth!!" I sort of thought she was just wishful thinking because Derick didn't loose any teeth until 1st grade! However, I felt it and sure enough...It was "LOOSED!"  So everyday she worked on it and wiggled it and wiggled it.  My Mom is the "Master tooth puller" When they lived in Lehi, all the Ward kids would come over and have her pull their teeth and she would give them a dollar.  She has the kids put their hand where she can see it and if it hurts they put up one finger and she stops.  Claira was super brave!  She let Meemaw pull that tooth!!  Here is the dollar and her tooth!  She was so excited!!
That night the Toothfairy came and left Claira another 5 DOLLARS and glitter ALL OVER!!!  Such excitement in the Farabee home!!

Sisters

Sisters.... I thought I better put a picture in here and do a little more "blog worthy" post rather than ramblings of Molly.  I had like 7 picture in que and this is the only one that uploaded...thats my blog luck!  I am sort of happy that this is it though...Look at those beautiful girls!  Sisters.  Claira is such a sweet sister. She is always the first one there if someone is hurt with an icebag in hand. (she thinks an icebag heals everything) She is such a little Mommy.  Paiz is so funny and LOVES her big sister!  I know these two will be best friends for life.  What a blessing to have a sister.  I love my sister so much, we are so close and have been through so much together.  Chloe' may be straight CRAZY but that's why we love her!!  She is beautiful and amazing and funny and perfect for me!!  Here's a little shout out to SISTERS!!!

It's a NEW YEAR!!

Last night Erick and I finally talked about our New Year's Resolutions.  This is something that we do every year however like a lot of people (I assume) we rarely look back at them even the next day.  We BOTH want this year to be different.  We each set 4 personal goals, and one family goal.  Now, I won't share Erick's goals as that is his info to share but I figure why not put mine out there?  Maybe it will help me to be more accountable...We shall see.  My first one is to get in better shape.  Physically.  I have been working semi-hard this past year on losing some weight.  I have never in my life struggled with my weight.  I was one of those lucky girls that just was trim.  This past year, I realized that was in the PAST and I now have some serious ground to make up for.  So Erick bought me an Eliptical and I do like it but find myself getting bored on it. I am going to keep at it though because I have seen positive results.  I also registered for a Tri-Athalon!!  What in the heck am I thinking?  I really don't have a good answer for that one but I'll let ya'll know on April 12th how it went!!
My second goal is to read my Scriptures Daily!  Yes, you might be thinking ummmm you should already be doing this Molly.  NOPE!!  I don't.  As a matter of fact, I am terrible at this seemingly simple task.  Even knowing and being custom to the blessings I receive in doing so.  I am not leaving it at that...I have taken it one step further, I plan to read the Ensign COVER TO COVER each month.  There are such great messages there, and I often miss out because I don't even take the time to pick it up.
My third is to be a better example to my Children.  I am not so good at controlling my temper all the time and I see this trait in my children.  When one does something to another, they have no reason. They just snap.  I honestly feel this is a direct result of my parenting.  I want my kids to be patient and kind.  I want them to have coping skills.  So this one may just be the most difficult of all.  We will see!!!
Our goals as a couple are:
1. To read scriptures every night together.
2. To impliment the Gospel Principals into our daily lives.  To really work on teaching our children the Gospel so that they will have THEIR OWN Testimony of what WE (Erick and I) know to be true.
Erick also gave me one more....He would like me to be better at keeping up on our BLOG!!!  So you may see more posts like this...more of a journal style but I will try to keep it somewhat interesting for whoever may still read this!
I love setting goals for myself.  I am excited about the prospects of what's to come if I actually follow through with these.  If you know me, you know I am not great at the follow through.  Maybe 2010 will bring a change in me!!!
